Nestle tham gia liên minh trị giá 7,2 tỷ USD với Starbucks

Nestle SA và Starbucks Corp. đang hợp lực để trẻ hóa đế chế cà phê của chính mình.
Theo đó, Nestle sẽ trả cho công ty có trụ sở tại Seattle, Mỹ số tiền 7,15 tỷ USD nhằm đổi lấy quyền bán các sản phẩm cà phê Starbucks trong chuỗi phân phối của mình. Ngoài ra, Nestle cũng sẽ sử dụng thương hiệu Starbucks với các hệ thống Nespresso và Dolce Gusto của họ trong năm tới.
Đây là thỏa thuận đầu tiên mà Nestle đạt được với Starbucks, đối thủ lớn nhất của hãng. Gã khổng lồ trong lĩnh vực cà phê hòa tan kỳ vọng thương vụ mới sẽ giúp tăng doanh thu trên mỗi cổ phiếu và đạt mục tiêu tăng trưởng cao vào năm 2019. Hiện tại, doanh số bán hàng hàng năm của Nestle là 2 tỷ USD. Trong khi đó, Starbucks cho biết họ sẽ dùng tiền từ thương vụ để đẩy nhanh quá trình mua lại cổ phần.
Thương vụ được ký kết trong bối cảnh Nestle đang nỗ lực chiếm lĩnh thị trường đồ uống cao cấp ở Mỹ, nơi Nespresso và Nescafe đã vượt qua JAB Holding Co., công ty của gia đình tỷ phú châu Âu Reimann dù họ đã chi tới 30 tỷ USD để xây dựng đế chế cà phê bằng cách mua lại Keurig Green Mountain and Peet’s.
“Thỏa thuận với Starbucks cho phép Nestle duy trì khoảng cách với JAB. Nó cũng giúp Nestle gia tăng quy mô tại Mỹ, một trong những thị trường trọng yếu”, Jean-Philippe Bertschy, chuyên gia phân tích của Ngân hàng Vontobel AG, cho hay.
Starbucks cũng cho phép Nestle bán các sản phẩm dưới thương hiệu Cà phê tốt nhất Seattle, Starbucks VIA và Torrefazione Italia. Thương hiệu trà Teavana cũng nằm trong khuôn khổ của thỏa thuận này.
Mark Schneider, CEO của Nestle, nhấn mạnh: “Với Starbucks, Nescafe và Nespresso, chúng tôi đã tập hợp được những nhãn hiệu mang tính biểu tượng nhất trong thế giới cà phê”. Hiện tại, đây cũng là thương vụ lớn nhất dưới quyền quản lý của Schneider kể từ khi ông nhậm chức cuối năm ngoái.
